The Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) performs various tasks on the basis of international agreements and legal requirements and charges fees for the resulting services. The products of the BSH (nautical charts, books, etc.) can be purchased. The BSH charges the corresponding price.

Nautical charts, books, texts, photos and other products issued by the BSH are protected by copyright and may only be used by third parties with the BSH's consent. Depending on the purpose and scope of use, different licences may be granted. There are free of charge licences in the form of one-off licences or royalty-free licence agreements; other uses require the conclusion of a licence agreement which involves the payment of royalties. Further information can be found on the Licensing page.
