Rainer Fröhlich

Rainer Fröhlich studied geophysics with a focus on earthquake and disaster research. During study trips (e.g. on the research vessel "Sonne") and his diploma thesis, he investigated vulcanisation processes and how earthquake waves are transferred to the Earth's crust by ocean surf. He benefited from this scientific knowledge, which has been tried and tested in practice, in his later activities at the BSH - initially in the development of IT solutions for various projects. He then headed the IT Services division and, since 2010, has been responsible for IT, the budget, organizational development and human resources as head of the entire central department. Rainer Fröhlich is the contact person for interest groups and occupational safety and is also responsible for complex challenges such as the implementation of the e-government law and thus the electronic processing and documentation of all departments.
