Workflow of the short-term forecast at the BSH. The red box shows the meteorological forcing data updated before each model run, for which there is no fallback position. The orange boxes present forcing data that are required on a daily basis, but for which there is also a fallback position (satellite data and river inputs). The atmospheric deposition and atmospheric partial pressure of carbon dioxide shown in the yellow box are updated once a year, and the data in the green boxes (e.g. tides and temperature and salinity data at the open edge) come from climatologies. The blue boxes list the model runs and work steps such as archiving the data at the BSH.
