Current measurements in North Sea and Baltic Sea
The purpose of the measurements is to gather wave data serving the following purposes:
- Safety in shipping, ferry services, surveying operations and information services,
- Continual verification of the numerical wave forecasting model of the German Weather Service (DWD),
Verification of model results for future climate development,
General description of wave conditions and wave climate.
The measured values on the map are uncorrected raw data.
