ISSC (International Ship Security Certificat)

An ISSC is issued if

  • a verified Plan exists on board the ship
  • the Plan has been implemented
  • the security measures have been trained for at least 30 days, and
  • a classification society has confirmed this in an on-board verification.

After the SSP has been approved by the BSH and taken on board the vessel, verification can be carried out by a classification company after 30 days and before the Interim ISSC expires (6-month validity).

As soon as the BSH has received the verification report on a successful on-board security survey, it issues the ISSC to the shipping company (with copy to the classification society).
