On 12 December 2008, Nord Stream AG submitted the complete application documentation including Environmental Impact Assessment to the Stralsund mining authority and BSH Hamburg.

The complete documentation had been sent to public agencies, other bodies and organisations as part of the broad consultation process, with a request for comment.

A consultation meeting was held in Stralsund from 22 - 25 June 2009, jointly with the Stralsund mining authority. 20 statements had been received, including one from a private party and five in a transboundary context.

Further information about the procedure is provided in the notification of approval.
