Processing of the survey data

Hydrographic surveys produce a large amount of depth measurements which have to be evaluated and processed. After the elimination of outliers from the data, only the representative depth data are extracted from the total amount of data.

The hydrographic surveys and evaluation have been completely digitised. Throughout the process, the operator is always interactively involved, using automatic algorithms wherever possible. Very frequently, however, the experience and expertise of the operator are needed to interpret individual measurements correctly.
