Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:

Goal of this cruise was the observation of internal mixing processes in the Baltic Sea with a focus on internal-wave mixing. Target areas were the Bornholm Basin and the Stolpe Channel on the Southern Baltic. Data collected include ship-based turbulence measurements with a turbulence microstructure profiler, as well as different types of moored instrumentation. The latter included a number of high-resolution bottom-mounted current profilers, a CTD chain, and an quasi-autonomous profiling platform equipped with CTD and biogeochemical sensors, a high-resolution current profiler, and a microstructure turbulence package.
