Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:

Impact of groundwater on geochemical cycles of coastal ecosystems of the southern Baltic Sea (Gdansk Bay). Conventional CTD and Pump-CTD profiles as well as transects with a towed undulating CTD device (scan-fish) were used to identify sites of possible groundwater seepage. These investigations were accomplished by transects with single beam echosounding in order to provide information about the sedimentary record. At certain sites surface sediment and water column samples were obtained for geochemical analyses (e.g. nutrients and metals).
