Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:

The 7.th HD/marine Biology cruise was scheduled in the period 28. September to 5.October 2009. The cruise was planned to be done in maximum 8 days. Due to bad weather conditions, the cruise ended 5.October. ADCP measurements were done in the cruise line. Biological measurements were done on nine positions and CTD on 65 positions. The whole work is listed in a cruise log (appendix to this report) and in the cruise overview map. The working day on the cruise was 24 hours. Hydrographical measurements were running day and night and biological measurements only in daytime. Resume: The weather conditions in the beginning of this WQ cruise was fairly good, but some with some windy days, from Friday evening 2.oct. the wind speed increased to gale 15-18 m/sec, with a forecast on harsh wind conditions during the weekend. The rest of the cruise was cancelled Saturday 3 October Some wp2 and multinet samples was cancelled due to hard weather conditions and lack of time During the cruise the biological stations were sampled during the day. All biological stations were sampled later than 8 clock in the morning and not later than 6 clock in the afternoon (local time). CTD profiles vas carried out night and day ADCP measurements were done on a part of the cruise line, and 2 times in the alignment. In Langeland belt it was observed that the water column was mixed into very homogene levels on salinity, oxygen and temperature from surface to bottom. In Fehmarn belt, some sign of a very high influx of water with high salinity was observed from a halocline in 8 meters dept and to the bottom, salinity up to 20 ml/litre.
