Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
The main objective of the cruise is to survey the abundance and distribution of sole in the German EEZ. Standard gears are 7 m beam trawls. The estimated index serves as an important basis for stock assessments of flatfishes in the German Bight. \nThis kind of survey is undertaken annually since 1976. Apart from on sole and plaice, also the amount of all other fishes caught as well as selected invertebrate species are recorded. \n\nThe second objective was to monitor the fish fauna of two planned national FFH (Flora-Fauna-Habitat) areas, Sylt-outer reef and Borkum-Reefground.
