Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
One of a series of interdisciplinary geo-archaelogical cruises to study the Litorina transgression in the southern Baltic Sea and its impact on prehistoric settlements and development of the palaeo-landscape. Main tasks: Search for outcrops of organic sediment layers at the sea bottom, especially with tree remnants, using sidescan sonar surveys and underwater videocamera surveys. Search for archaelogical artefacts. Recovery of sediment cores with vibrocorer.
