Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:

Hydrographic observations of the water masses in the Denmark Strait Overflow (DSO) region and adjacent fresh water of the East Greenland Current as part of the EU ASOF-W programme. Service of mainly current meter moorings in the DSO. ASOF aims to measure and model the variability of the fluxes between the Arctic Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean with a view to implementing a longer-term system of critical measurements needed to understand the high-latitude ocean's steering role in decadal climate variability. Data collection: CTD, time series of velocities, temperature, salinity and pressure, Freon.
