Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
This survey is part of an annual monitoring programme designed to determine spatial and temporal trends for winter nutrients in the Irish Sea and part of the Celtic Sea. As well as being used in national assessment of nutrient levels in the Irish Sea (e.g. QSR2000), the results are submitted to the ICES databank in Copenhagen as part of the requirements for the Irish National Marine Monitoring Programme (JAMP)/ co-ordinated environmental monitoring programme (CEMP)in relation to the OSPAR 'Strategy on Eutrophication'.
