Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:

In the course of the DYNAS project this cruise was designated to (1) assess the quality and quantity of particulate material within the water column and how quality/quantity are affected by varying density distribution on time scales of hours; (2) assess the affected erodibility of surface sediments and how benthic animals are affected by dumped sediments; (3) assess patchiness of pore water composition in sandy sediments as conrolled by benthic animals. Preliminary results indicated the influence of wave-like changes of the density stratification of the water column on some optical seawater characteristics.
