Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
Participation in the international hydroacoustic survey for the assessment of the stock size of atlanto-scandian herring in the Norwegian Sea. Participants of the survey are Norway, Russia, the Faeroese Island, Iceland and the EU. For the EU this year the german vessel "Walter Herwig III" took part. On board was a mixed crew of german and dutch scientists. In addition to the hydroacoustic measurements of herring and blue wittling concentrations of the biomass of zooplankton was measured also and oceanographic parameters were taken.
