Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
The TASQWA project aims to reconstruct the paleoceanography of the southern Tasman Sea and the SW Pacific sector of the Southern Ocean during the last 125.000 years. The results will be interpreted with respect to global climatic change and globally linked oceanic circulation. It is intended that this will lead to a better understanding of the paleoceanography and past climate in a key region which has, to date, undergone very little investigation.
