Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
Description:\nPRISMA-2 research activity aimed to deepen the results obtained within PRISMA-1 (Seasonal longitudinal fluxes of physical and biogeochemical fields) at smaller spatio-temporal scales (mesoscale).\nIn particular PRISMA-2 is addressed at the determination of physical and mesoscale structure (fronts, eddies and filaments) in the basin scale dynamic.\nNational Research Program for the Adriatic Sea.\nThe investigation area was in front of delta Po river (44?30'-45?12'N, italian coast-13?14'E)\nThe summer oceanographic cruise was conducted over 4 legs, with the following calendar:\nPhase 1: 17/07-22/07, collected 112 CTD profiles\nPhase 2: 26/07-29/07, collected 96 CTD profiles\nPhase 3: 29/08-02/09, collected 74 CTD profiles\nPhase 4: 06/09-10/09, collected 113 CTD profiles\nCTD data were collected with SBE 911 Plus probe with pressure, temperature, conductivity and dissolved oxygen sensors.\nwater samples for nutrients, dissolved oxygen, trace metals in particulate suspended matter phytoplancton and primary production determinations were collected during phase 1 and 3.\nTwo autorecording NBA mod. DNC-2B current meters were moored close to piattaforma Amelia (Ravenna).
