Combined off- and on-shore geophysical and geological studies on: A) Structure and composition of the oceanic and the overlying continental plates in the convergence zone of the central Andes. B) Recent development of the continental margin and related tectonic mechanisms, including the sediment/erosional history. C) Seismicity, stress field and geothermal field, magnetic and gravity anomalies.
