Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
Multidisciplinary investigations of the Greenland Sea, to improve the knowl edge on the present ecosystem and to understand the processes in the water ecology which determine the geological record. With this aim physical, chemical, planktologi- cal, benthological measurements were carried out. Sea ice studies and air chemistry were included in the programme.
