Ziel der Reise / Objectives of Cruise:
The basic objectives of the cruise were to: -establish the character, distribution features, transformation and dynamics of water masses; -study a structure and dynamics of frontal zones and conjugate circulation jets in the Norwegian and Greenland seas; -study a detailed structure of distribution of major hydrological characteristics and intensity of water exchange through Faeroe-Shetland Strait (Water Exchange experiment); -determine characteristics of thermodynamic state of the ocean in the Norwegian energy active zone and the North European basin during intensive arrival of heat at the active ocean layer; -study seasonal variability of major characteristics of the region and obtain data to describe the annual variation in the state of the Norwegian energy active zone; -accumulate data to study long-standing tendencies in the change of thermodynamic state of the energy active zo
