The Baltic Sea Research Institute Warnemünde (IOW) operates the measuring pile on behalf of BSH, within the framework of the Marine Environmental Monitoring Network in the North Sea and Baltic Sea (MARNET).
The radioactivity detector is located at a depth of 7 m.
